Rocky Mountain National Park

Rocky Mountain National Park boasts 415 square miles of incredible mountain scenery and wildlife. Access to the park is through the town of Estes Park, a quick 1.5 hour drive from Denver. If you are new to the area, make a stop in the city of Boulder along the way for lunch.

The standard entrance fee for the park is $20 per vehicle. This grants you access to the park for 7 days. However if you are planning on coming back often there is an annual pass available for $40. If you are even considering that, I would highly recommend the America the Beautiful Annual Pass, which allows access to nearly all national parks for $80.

There are endless trails and mountain lakes to explore in RMNP. This is a park where talking to the rangers when picking up your backcountry permit is infinitely useful for determining what sort of adventure you are looking for.
