There are several water treatment options on the market today and one of the new players making a big impact on the scene is Sawyer Products that make water filtration systems.
Moving away from the traditional “pump” method of drawing the water, this system relies more on the “scoop & go” system where you can drink your water directly from the source.  This is a more convenient way to stay hydrated and also saves time and effort.
Sawyer also gives several water filtration options depending on the conditions you’re faced with.  For those who like to drink their water from a bottle there is the “Squeeze” filtration system where the filter is attached to the bottle.

Other choices available are geared towards a “Gravity Fed” system that lets you utilize different methods to fill your canteens while on the move or at camp leaving you free to take care of other tasks or just relax. The “Inline” filtration system provides you with a variety of reservoir options such as hydration bladders on the go or other attachments that let you fill your bottles using gravity.
Equipped with a 0.1 absolute micron biological filtration Hollow-Fiber membrane, the filter removes 99.99999% of all bacteria, such as salmonella, cholera and E.coli; removes 99.9999% of all protozoa, such as giardia and cryptosporidium. The Sawyer filter cartridge is guaranteed for a whopping 1,000,000 gals but amounts can vary depending on water conditions and flushing of filter. Weighing in at a mere 3 oz. and with an  output rate of 1.7 liters per minute, this is sure to make traditional filtration users sit up and take notice!
Another great option for filtration!
