Getting your Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) might feel like a big task, but breaking it down into three clear steps makes it manageable. Here’s how to get on the road to becoming a professional truck driver:
Start by passing the written test to obtain your CDL permit. Study your state’s CDL handbook and take practice exams to prepare. We also have permit prep class every Monday.
The next step is ELDT—a required training program designed to teach you the fundamentals of operating commercial vehicles safely and legally. This training consists of road, range and theory, which we teach hands-on training in a real commercial truck.
Finally, take the CDL skills test. This includes three parts: a vehicle inspection, basic control skills, and an on-the-road driving test. With the right preparation and practice, you’ll be ready to pass and earn your CDL. If you don’t pass the first time, we’ve got your back with additional training at no extra cost.
